NeoForm™ Dermis
NeoForm is a highly innovative product from a very predictable source. It is a solvent-dehydrated, gamma-irradiated preserved human allograft dermis. It’s the only breast reconstruction product available that goes through the proprietary Tutoplast® cleaning process, which inactivates transmissible pathogens such as HIV, CJD and Hepatitis.
Since 1971, Tutoplast processed bioimplants have been used in more than 1.5 million procedures—with no known cases of disease transmission attributed to the graft.
That’s safety you can count on. And that’s just the beginning of the story.
NeoForm is ideal for tissue expansion.
NeoForm is an excellent choice for tissue expansion because it:
• Adds coverage
• Enables you to define the shape and contour of the reconstructed breast
• Supports and holds the tissue expander in place
• Cushions the mastectomy skin envelope from contact with the expander
NeoForm also helps you create a well-defined inframammary fold and lateral mammary fold. And it eliminates the need to elevate the anterior serratus and external oblique muscles—as well as the rectus abdominus fascia.
Once implanted, NeoForm acts as a scaffold for the ingrowth of your patient’s own tissue.
It is then absorbed over time through a natural process called remodeling.
It’s proven safe
All Tutoplast® processing procedures are accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). They have exacting high standards—NeoForm™ exceeds them.
Through extensive cleaning, processing, dehydration and preservation, the integrity of NeoForm dermis remains constant. In addition, the tissue’s collagen matrix is preserved and all organic material is removed.
Rigorous donor selection for every NeoForm product is assured through next-of-kin interviews and careful medical record screening.
In fact, every NeoForm dermis product can be traced back to its original donor. The only donors chosen are those with negative results for:
• HIV-1, HIV-2
• Hepatitis B and C
• HTLV-1, HTLV-2
• Syphilis
Most important, the Tutoplast Process has been verified by several leading independent laboratories, and shown to be highly effective in removing these antigens.
In 35-plus years, no known cases of disease transmission have ever been reported on any Tutoplast processed bioimplant.
It’s consistent and strong
Each piece of NeoForm has a dense network of collagen bundles that interconnect in every direction, making it consistent in strength, quality, structure and uniformity.
You always know exactly what you’re going to get—all the time.
It’s never freeze dried
Freeze drying tissue can destroy its fibrous strength. This happens to freeze-dried tissue in a very random manner, making it less consistent from package to package.
With freeze-dried tissue, you never really know what you’re going to get.
It rehydrates more quickly
You can rehydrate NeoForm™ in just a few minutes using room-temperature saline. This is
10 to 20 times faster than other dermis implants.

It also gives you the flexibility to make intraoperative size decisions, so you don’t have to rehydrate several implants prior to surgery. And NeoForm does not require extensive graft preparation.
It’s simple to use and can be implanted with either side up
NeoForm is very easy to use and handle. It can be sutured or stapled. There’s no backing to peel off, and NeoForm can be implanted with the basement or dermal side up.
It’s provided sterile
NeoForm is sterilized through the Tutoplast® Process, followed by low-dose gamma radiation. It is packaged sterile in double-peel pouches that assures its integrity, while making it easy to use in the OR.
It does not require refrigeration
NeoForm can be stored on the shelf for five years, and does not need to be refrigerated. Other dermis products may only last two years and require refrigeration.
