Breast Anatomy and Mastectomy
The breast is made up of fatty, glandular and fibrous tissues. Beneath the breast is the pectoralis major, which is a large muscle that assists in arm movement.

What is a Mastectomy?
A mastectomy is when breast tissue is removed due to the presence of a cancerous or precancerous growth. The amount of tissue removed during a mastectomy is not always the same; it will vary based on the size and stage of your cancer, your body type and your personal preferences.
