Tissue Expanders

The Centerscope™ is used to facilitate detection of the magnetic fill dome of the Contour Profile® Tissue Expander.
Contour Profile® Tissue Expanders are designed for use in two-stage breast reconstruction. As the tissue expander fills, the tissues over the expander begin to stretch, similar to the gradual expansion of a woman’s abdomen during pregnancy. The tissue expander creates a new breast-shaped pocket for a breast implant. Mentor's line of Contour Profile® Tissue Expanders feature a Low, Medium, and Tall height to accommodate individual body types of patients. Our Contour Profile® gel implant family offers a great fit to our expander line as an option for follow up breast implants.

How to use the Centerscope™ Port Detector
The base of the Centerscope™ should be placed flat against the patient’s chest wall, and then moved in a circular motion around the general area of the tissue expander. Once the magnetic arm detects the magnet in the dome it moves towards it. Repeat the circular motion with progressively smaller circles until the magnet (bottom of arm) is centered in the base of the Centerscope™. Then mark the injection port with either a pen in the marking indentations provided, or simply press down gently to leave an “X” on the patient’s skin.
TIP: For thick-skinned patients, have the patient lean back.
NOTE: One Centerscope™ is packaged sterile inside each Contour Profile® Breast Tissue Expander box.
