Garment Application

Head | Ear | Chest | Waist | Girdle

To apply your Caromed® garment at home: If you have just showered, make certain that you are completely dry before applying your Caromed® garment. Assume a seated position on a bed or comfortable chair. If at any time during the application of your garment you become fatigued, please take a minute to rest.

Note: On first-stage garments, the tags and seams are located in front and on the outside of the garment, away from the skin.

Head Bandages

Open all VELCRO¨ closures on the garment. Place the shorter strap of the bandage with the garment tag around the neck and secure with VELCRO¨ closures. Place the chin in the center, lower section of the garment. Secure the longer strap around the top of the head with the VELCRO¨ closures and adjust for proper fit.

For the Therma-Jaw bandage, place the thermal packs inside the pockets located on the cheek section. Secure with the VELCRO¨ closures. Packs can be changed without removing the bandage.

Ear Bandages

Unfasten VELCRO¨ closures and remove the optional chin strap. Wrap the long strap around the head. Fasten in back of the head. The widest portion of the band should be centered on the forehead. The garment tag will be at the back of the head. Pull the head strap up and over the top of the head, fastening in front. Adjust VELCRO¨ attachments as necessary. Attach the optional chin strap if desired.

Vests & Bras

Secure VELCRO¨ closures on each shoulder (if applicable). Open zipper and hook & eye closures. Put on garment with zipper in front. Secure hook & eye closures. Be sure zipper is properly engaged before attempting to zip. Adjust or secure VELCRO¨ on shoulders for proper fit (if applicable).

Bandeau

Unfasten hook & eye and VELCRO® closures. Place lower band with contouring foam under breasts with the hook & eye closures in back. Secure hook & eye closures. Position upper band across the top of the breasts. Adjust VELCRO® closures to fit as snugly as desired.

Waistbinders

Unfasten VELCRO¨ closures. Place around the waist where compression is needed and secure VELCRO¨ closures. Adjust for proper fit.

Girdles

xWhile seated, step into the girdle and gently pull the girdle into place. While standing propped near your chair, pull the girdle up. In order to insure proper compression in the groin and upper thigh area, make sure to position the crotch opening as far up as possible. Fasten the remaining hook & eye closures on one side only. Carefully pull up the zipper. Now, fasten the hook & eye closures on the remaining side. This side will be somewhat more difficult to secure and we recommend that someone be present to provide assistance. After the hook & eye closures are secured, carefully zip up this side of the girdle.

Adjusting the Abdomino/Lipoplasty combination girdles: Adjust VELCRO® closures above the pubis first, upper waistband next, then lower waistband.

Please Use Extra Caution To Avoid Catching The Zipper In The Inner Lining.

Important: If the zipper becomes snagged - Stop Immediately. Do Not attempt to force the zipper in any direction. Completely remove the girdle to alleviate the tension placed on the zipper. You can now gently work with the zipper until it is freed from the facing.
